This vintage Louis Poulsen spotlight is entitled Alux Globespot and was designed in the early 1960s by E Graae and H Helger. The head has a diameter of 20.5cm (8 inches) and a circumference of 64.5cm (approximately 25.5 inches). A 24cm-long (9.5 inch) channel running down the centre of the lamp head allows its angle to be adjusted through approximately 110 degrees. It takes a standard-sized Eddison screw-fitting bulb (not supplied). The lamp is in excellent, shiny condition and shows only minimal signs of its age. No wall/ceiling fittings are included beyond those visible inside the flange in the images below. The lamp's original two-core wiring is intact and in excellent condition. UK buyers, however, should note that legislation introduced in 2005 requires metal-bodied lights installed directly into the mains to have three-core wiring, so for that reason this lamp is offered within the UK as a collectors' item only.
