Table lamp by Anders Pehrson for Atelje Lyktan
Availability: 1
Designed in the 1970s by Anders Pehrson and made in Sweden by Atelje Lytkan of Åhus, the heavy base on this robust and high-quality table lamp gives it great stability despite its asymmetrical weight loading. The rich egg-yolk yellow paintwork has some chipping to the base and the cantilevered S-shaped stem, which can be seen in the images below. The head is in excellent glossy condition. It can be rotated through 360 degrees on the horizontal plane and tilted through 90 degrees on the vertical plane, offering considerable versatility in use. There would originally have been a light-diffusing plastic grille clipped to the rim of the head, but this is no longer present. Overall the lamp stands 38.5cm (15.25 inches) tall when the head is parallel to the base, and 55cm (21.75 inches) tall when it is tilted back (upwards) to the full 90 degrees, while its base has a footprint of 17cm (6.5 inches) diameter. It takes two small Edison screw bulbs max 40w each, and is fitted with a standard European-style two-pin plug.
