Matte black and deep orange Danish art light

Made from six strong metal wraps, each elegantly tapered and lightly curved at top and bottom ends, this stunning vintage Danish pendant light has no manufacturers' label but its production quality is extremely high, and the components used in its construction indicate that it was probably produced by Lyfa in the early 1960s. Each metal wrap section has a concealed central hole through which the bulb light emerges to be softened and shielded from direct glare by the orange interior faces.

 

The lamp measures 27cm (10.5 inches) in diameter and 30cm (12 inches) in height, takes an Edison screw-fitting bulb max 40w (not supplied), and is in excellent condition. The original two-core wiring has been replaced with brand new two-core cable approximately 1.25 metres in length, allowing for a low hanging position if required. UK-based buyers should, however, note that UK regulations require metal ceiling lamps installed since 2005 to have three-core wiring, so this lamp is offered to UK-based buyers as a collector's item only.
