Danish pendant light designed by Carl Thore
Availability: Out Of Stock
Swedish architect Carl Thore's light designs were immensely popular in Denmark in the 1960's and 70's, and were produced in two qualities – a lighter-weight version in which all the layers were made of aluminium, and a higher-quality version in which the two central layers were made from steel and fused together, making them extremely resistant to bending and dents. This is one of the higher-quality productions, and is a rarely-seen variation with a glossy white exterior providing a spectacular backdrop for reflected light from the classic Carl Thore orange interior faces.
The light has a diameter of 26cm (10.25 inches) and a height of 21cm (8.25 inches) and is in excellent original condition, with a little paint loss around the screw heads on the cone-shaped top section but no other marks, scratches, dents or other damage. It takes an Edison screw fitting bulb max 60w (not supplied) and all electrical components have been replaced to meet or exceed current UK and international safety standards.
