A vintage 70's boxed neck glass designed by Christer Holmgren for Holmegaard glassworks of Denmark

This very retro vintage 70's Holmegaard neck glass is in excellent condition and comes complete with its original thong (see picture right) and carton (see pictures below). Designed by Christer Holmgren, the glass was intended to be hung around the neck on its leather thong, providing the wearer with "a third hand".

The carton explains: "Neck-glass. The glass that hangs round your neck. This glass solves an old problem – where to put your glass at a party or a reception and then remember which glass is yours. With the new Holmegaard neck-glass you need never say no to a drink because you'll always have a glass to hand – or rather a glass round your neck. Our neck-glass also leaves you a hand free to smoke, eat, shake hands – or even hold another drink. It's quality. It's handblown. It's a lot of fun."
