A vintage 1960's/1970's Danish art pottery vase by Gunnar Nylund at Nymolle |
||
|
Gunnar Nylund (1904–1989) was born in Sweden and trained first as an architect and subsequently as a ceramicist. He became artistic director at Rorstrand in Sweden in the 1950s before moving to Denmark's Nymolle in 1959, succeeding Jacob Bang as artistic director. Nylund remained with Nymolle until 1974 when he left to open his own design firm. This ceramic pot has the exceptionally glossy greeny-yellow drip glaze frequently used by Nylund during his time at Nymolle. The vase stands approximately 14cm (5.5 inches) tall and has a diameter of around 7.5cm (3 inches). It is marked on the base with the Nymolle logo formed by the letter N with three hearts, and the words Nymolle Denmark G Nylund, and is in excellent condition with no damage.
