The front face of this heavy, top-quality vintage art glass candleholder features a frosted geometric motif that stands proud of the broken-ice textured background. The side and rear faces as well as the main body, meanwhile, are heavy and solid crystal-clear glass.
The three-hole candleholder was hand-made at the Pukeberg glassworks in Sweden in the late 1960s and is attributed to Uno Westerberg. A similar example of Pukeberg glass can be seen on page 30 of Nigel Benson's “Glass of the 50's and 60's”, where the author comments that the design demonstrates the influence of the major artists of the period.
The candleholder is in excellent condition and has a weight of 2.6kg (5lb 12oz), measuring approximately 15 x 20.5cm (6 x 8.5 inches) with a depth of 4cm (1.5 inches).
