The ceramic artist responsible for this large and vibrantly coloured earthenware wall art panel is unknown, but the art nouveau revival style of the design together with the psychedelic colouring of the high-gloss enamel glazes suggests that it was produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
Measuring 41 x 31cm (16.25 x 12.25 inches), the base of the artwork has been created by sculpting the clay, presumably with the aid of a mould, to form the outlines of the flowers and stems, and a frame for the composition. These outlines have later been picked out in matte black to frame the recessed pools of vivid orange, yellow, red, green and blue enamel glaze infills. The panel is in excellent condition.
