This classic vintage Finnish art glass vase was designed in 1968 by Nanny Still for Riihimaen Lasi Oy, and its geometric multi-waisted shape makes it a classic example of the distinctive glass works produced in Finland at that time. Indeed, this specific design – entitled Pompadour – was included in Smoke and Ice, Pina and Lorenzo's survey of Scandinavian glass from 1930 to 2000. This vase stands 22cm (8.5 inches) tall and has a diameter of 6.5cm (2.5 inches). A rarely seen vivid turquoise version, it is in very good condition and retains its original ‘Finncristall Made in Finland’ label. For more images please scroll down the page. |
