A vintage 50s/early 60s Italian art pottery dish or wall plaque with enamel glazes

This vintage 50s/60s Italian hand-made ceramic dish or wall plaque measures 19.5 x 33.5cm (7.75 x 13.25 inches) and has its original hanging string on the back. The artwork depicts a gondolier at work in Venice, and uses a range of textures in a strong semi-abstract modernist style. The background is a silky matte black, while the detailing is picked out with scrafitto outlining and bright, glossy enamel glazes. There is a small chip on the reverse side near the lower right-hand hanging cord hole (currently empty), which is not visible during use either as a dish or as a wall plaque. Otherwise the ceramic is in excellent condition.
