This sharp lemon yellow metal pendant light still carries its original Louis Poulsen labels, both the wattage label with the LP monogram which can be seen in the second picture below, and the larger label carrying the light's model number and the full Louis Poulsen branding, which is hidden from view behind the electric light fitting in the light's neck. Although two lights are pictured below, we now have only one remaining available.
Conceived by Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) in the 1950s or 1960s, the design was subsequently manufactured by Poulsen in the late 1960s/early 1970s as the iT range, comprising these pendant lights and the iT desk lamp, pictured below in an advert from 1972. Henningsen's drawing of the shade (pictured right) shows how his design was as always driven by functional considerations of how light would be directed by the shade. The light has a diameter of 21cm (8.25 inches) and a height of 23cm (9 inches).
