A pair of Falcon lights from Fog & Morup's Rainbow Line range made in Denmark in the 1960s/1970s

These glossy red Fog & Mørup Falcon lights were part of F&M's Regnbue Linie (Rainbow Line) range of pendant ceiling lamps by Jo Hammerborg and Andreas Hansen. The Rainbow Line was in production at Fog & Mørup from the late 1960s and into the 1970s, and the various colours and forms of the range are pictured, right, in a Fog & Mørup advert of the period. The Falcon was originally designed by Andreas Hansen in the very early 60s but was given a new lease of life by F&M's head of design Jo Hammerborg with the colourful makeover that reinvented it as part of the Rainbow range.

The Falcon lights have a diameter of 40cm (approximately 16 inches) and both lamps are in very good condition with only minimal signs of age and previous use, nothing obtrusive, amounting to little more than two slight scrapes to the paintwork on one of the lights. They present a striking appearance, and are a fine illustration of the never-failing and arguably unmatched commitment to excellence in design and production quality that prevailed at Fog & Mørup.
