A very large layered pendant light in white enamelled metal and perspex by Frandsen of Denmark

With a diameter of 60cm, this huge, top-quality vintage layered pendant light by Frandsen of Denmark would make a striking centrepiece for a large reception room or entrance lobby. Reminiscent of Arne Nilsson's Fata Morgana light for Hans-Agne Jakobsson, the lamp's multi-layered design shields the bulb and eliminates glare while maximising the reflected light available.

The lamp's strong white enamelled metal layers are capped at the lower end by a bulb-concealing cup and at the top end by a 5mm (5/8 inch) thick perspex disc. The overall profile of the lamp is imposing, yet at the same time unobtrusive – its open structure makes it almost invisible at many angles when unlit, but is sufficiently large, robust and substantial to create a focal point for any room it occupies. The light is in excellent condition with only very minor signs of previous use.
