A rare vintage 1950's/60's Danish modern art lamp with contrasting texture and colour effects

The distinguishing feature of this unusual vintage Danish modern pendant art light is its use of contrast in texture and colour. While the three lower and top two sections have a shiny brushed aluminium finish which becomes bright and whiteish in appearance when the lamp is lit, the main body layer is an intensely matte light grey.

The very flat texture and colour of this matte light grey layer contrasts even more strongly with the brilliant red interior of the layer above it, which throws a red glow onto the aluminium cap when the lamp is lit. The lamp has a diameter of 36cm (14.25 inches) and takes a standard-sized screw bulb up to 75w. It is in excellent condition.
