These Danish space-age bubble lights were made in the 60's and 70's by Hamalux of Dannemare and later of Sakskøbing, both towns on the island of Lolland in Denmark. The set of four comprises two in yellow, one in orange and one in dark brown.
The lamps' robust ball-shaped metal heads are held in place by a magnet concealed beneath the manufacturer's label in the base, and can be swivelled around freely. Standing 15.5cm (6 inches) tall, they work well as table lamps or spotlights, and may be screwed to a wall via a hole that runs through the centre of the magnetic base. The space helmet style heads are in good condition with multiple small scuffs and tiny paint chips.
