An original 1960s–70s white Sankyo digital Dayglo electric alarm clock model No 202D |
||
|
This vintage digital alarm clock was made in Japan in the 1960s/1970s by Sankyo Seiki Manufacturing Co Ltd of Tokyo. Its model number is 202D, as shown on the original label on the clock's base (see picture below). The time is displayed digitally in the sense that it uses digits rather than hands, but the display is mechanical rather than electronic, and the numbers change as drums inside the clock rotate. The clock measures 19cm wide by 10cm deep and 9cm high (7.5 x 4 x 3.5 inches) and has a European-style two-pin plug. It is in working order and very good glossy white condition, with just the merest hint of yellowing on the side casing to the right as you face the clock's display.
