A vintage and richly patinated teak carving of a goose produced in Canada in the Danish modern style

This expertly carved and beautifully patinated vintage teak goose is incised "Middleton, Canada" on its base but is very much in the Danish modern style, its flowing organic lines reminiscent of the work of Finn Juhl. When placed on the edge of a shelf the goose's head appears to dip below its body (see first two images below), but in fact they share a baseline (see final image below). The carving measures 24cm (9.5 inches) from tip to tail and is in excellent condition.
