A unique and original semi-abstract artwork created in Denmark in the 1960's

This strange and haunting painting with its semi-abstract central figure of uncertain character – is it a pond, from which the geese are drinking, or a faceless Don't Look Now figure in a red cape? – is an original work of art made in Denmark in the 1960's. After painting the background image in what would appear to be gouache, the artist splattered the canvas with black ink, Pollack-style, adding to the painting's slightly disturbing psychological aspect and its outsider art feel. The wooden-framed work measures 59 x 49cm (23.25 x 19.25 inches).
