Vintage plastic melamine kitchenware designed by Danish designer Bjarne Bo in the mid-1960s

These stylish graters and slicers or mandolins were designed in 1965 by Bjarne Bo and produced in Denmark. The rounded handle and shoulders of these classic space-age kitchenware items allow the devices to be gripped firmly either by threading fingers through the hole or by grasping the whole handle.

Measuring 7.5cm x 22.5cm (3 x 8.75 inches), the grater is entirely made from very strong melamine which offers a surprisingly sharp and effective shredding mechanism. The slicer/mandolin is also melamine but has a metal blade.

We currently have a few vintage examples of the graters remaining in stock, but slicers are no longer available. If you would like to choose your grater colour(s), email us, otherwise we'll send you a colour at random.
