Pukeberg freeform lilypad textured glass candleholder

Resembling a water lily pad, this unusual vintage Swedish art glass candleholder's form appears at first sight to be completely naturalistic and random, but closer examination reveals that there is in fact a strong underlying symmetry, with the outer edge of the glasswork touching down at three evenly distributed points at precisely the same level as the central candleholding well, creating a stable tripod and firmly supporting the piece. The symmetry continues between these three tripod points, where three intervening apex points reach matching heights of 3cm (1.5 inches). The topside of the glass has a diameter of approximately 20cm (8 inches) and is perfectly smooth, while the underside has a rippled water-like texture which emphasises the lilypad association. The original Pukeberg Sweden label remains in place and the piece is in excellent condition with no damage.
