A vintage pure wool Ege Rya Boutique rug made in Denmark in the 1960's and entitled Abstracta

In the late 60's to early 70's the leading Danish rug manufacturer Ege Rya produced a range of pure wool shag-pile rugs entitled Boutique. This small rya is one of that line, and although it no longer has its label, we have previously had examples that did, which revealed the name of rug's design to be Abstracta. In classic midcentury modern tones of ochre, burnt ochre and umber with a dash of 60's purple breaking in on a cream background, the rug measures 70 x 110cm (28 x 43 inches). It is in good condition with a little discolouration in the background area which could benefit from a shampoo.
