A huge and spectacular circular vintage 1960s Ege Rya de luxe rug in pure wool with bold semi-abstract sunset/moonscape design

This stunning vintage Ege Rya de luxe room-sized rug is undoubtedly the most spectacular vintage rya we have ever come across. Measuring approximately 2.5 metres (about 98 inches) in diameter and weighing some 17kg (around 37.5 pounds), the deep-pile shag rug is big, bold and bright enough to form the centrepiece of a large reception room.

The rug is in excellent condition with no wear. The semi-abstract design in the deep, thick pure wool shag pile suggests wispy clouds passing in front of a large setting sun or harvest moon in rich shades of dark reddish brown, orangey red, apricot, burgundy, claret and egg-yolk yellow.
