A mint-condition Andy Warhol Barbie rug produced in a limited edition of 5,000 by Ege of Denmark

Authorised and endorsed by the Andy Warhol Foundation, this 1985 Andy Warhol Barbie screenprint was produced as a limited edition of 5,000 pure New Zealand wool Axminster woven art rugs in 1997 by leading Danish carpet manufacturer Ege Taepper. The portrait is signed Andy Warhol within the artwork to the bottom right corner. Other rugs in the series featured Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and the Campbell's soup can. Measuring 80 x 86cm (31.5 x 33.5 inches), this example is in mint condition. Slots along the top and bottom edges are designed to be able to take hanging rods (not supplied), so the rug can be displayed on wall or floor as required.
