Classic modern offers a wide range of vintage rugs in styles ranging from classic 1950s Danish midcentury modern through 1960s op and pop art to retro 1970s psychedelic. Our main focus is on shag-pile rya rugs – some hand-woven, others machine-made. The majority were designed for use on the floor, while others were originally intended for display as wall hangings in the traditional Scandinavian fashion, but most can be used either way. Sold items are indicated below by a grey border; those with an orange border are still available.
