Inger Waage Stavangerflint hoop posy vase

Standing 12cm (4.75 inches) tall, this fine ceramic posy vase was made in the late 1950s at the Stavangerflint pottery works in Norway, and handpainted by one of Stavangerflint's most celebrated ceramic artists, Inger Waage. The base is stamped with the Stavangerflint logo incorporating a Viking hammer, together with the words 'Handpainted IW Norway'. The design and form numbers have been written in hand, and the design of yellow hoops on black (number 69) is illustrated on page 56 of Jan Gjerde's comprehensive 2009 survey of Inger Waage's work, Inger Waage: Design for Stavangerflint 1953–1979. The vase is in excellent condition with no damage.
