A Scandinavian midcentury modern signed jute/hessian textile wallhanging with stylised chicken design |

This vintage textile wall hanging was produced by Stildukar of Göteborg, Sweden and dates from the late 1950's or the early 1960's. Signed UHR by the artist at the bottom right corner within the artwork, the textile sports a stylised chicken motif in classic midcentury modern colours of moss, deep sea blue and coral on jute/hessian. The print is mounted onto wooden stretchers at head and foot, and measures approximately 30 x 52cm (12 x 20.5 inches). It is in good condition with some signs of age and wear to the reverse side (pictured below), which also carries its original Stildukar label. For more images please scroll down the page. |
