One large original vintage 1960s/1970s curtain with circular iris-like motifs in vivid greens and blues |

A peacock's display and the iris of an eye are brought to mind by the wispy, feathery textures, blocks of vibrant colour and starburst form of the motifs on this single vintage 60s/70s curtain. The striking design is printed in bright, fresh lime and forest greens, aquamarine and midnight blue on a light cream coloured fabric which we guess to be a manmade/linen mix. The fabric has a fairly loose weave and texture variations are provided by regular rows of slubbing and recurring open tracks of a single fibre width. The curtain's overall width is 227cm (89.5 inches) comprising two joined fabric panels, and it has a drop of 200cm (78.75 inches). Each circular motif has a diameter of 54cm (21 inches), and there are a total of four motifs across the width of the curtain (a little of the outer two being turned over for a seam at the left and right edges) and three and a half motifs down the curtain's drop (the half motif appearing at the top edge). The original header tape is intact, without hooks, and the curtain is in excellent condition, clean and without any fading. For more images please scroll down the page. |
