Six screenprinted table mats by Sodahl Design of Denmark

Produced in the 1960's or early 70's by Sodahl Design A/S, the Danish textiles company founded in 1963 by artist and designer Hans-Jürgen Schöbel as a vehicle for his own artworks, these vintage table mats have a width of 45cm (17.75 inches) and a height of 30cm (12 inches). Made of 60 per cent jute (hessian) and 40 per cent polyester, they have been screenprinted in buttercup yellow and avocado, lime and forest green. The edges of each mat are finished with forest green cotton piping. The set is in mint, unused condition.
