Finlayson of Finland vintage 1970s geometric Aalto curtain
Finlayson of Finland vintage 1970s geometric Aalto curtain
This vintage single curtain measures 140 cm wide and has a drop of 123 cm. It is in excellent condition and ready to hang, with its original header tape intact (hooks not supplied). The textile from which the curtain has been made was produced in 1978 by Finlayson of Tampere, Finland, one of the companies which (along with Marimekko and Tampella) set the style for Finnish textiles of this era by creating many of the large-scale bold geometric designs which are now so collectable. The Panton-like zig-zag spectrum design is named Aalto after the illustrious Finnish designer, and is printed in shades of brown and beige from dark bitter chocolate to cream on a strong furnishing-weight cotton.
