When Jo Hammerborg joined Fog & Mørup as creative director at the end of the 1950s he set about completely transforming the company's product range, bringing in a sleek modernist aesthetic that reflected his training as a silversmith and his previous work at Georg Jensen. The Ultra was one of 24 new Hammerborg lights that featured in Fog & Mørup's April 1963 catalogue. With a diameter of 30 cm and a height of 20 cm, the light's copper body has a satinised exterior finish and an orange-painted interior and is in very good condition with minor signs of age and use.
