Kubus pendant lamp by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, early 1960s

Out Of Stock Kubus pendant lamp by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, early 1960s

Kubus pendant lamp by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, early 1960s

One of Jo Hammerborg’s earliest (pre-1961) designs for Fog & Mørup, the Kubus is also amongst the most rarely seen Hammerborg creation. Measuring 22 cm in height with a diameter of 12 cm, it is a small lamp with an extremely robust construction, made from three open-ended strong steel cubes mounted on top of one another. With a neutral exterior colour described in a 1961 advert for the Kubus as cream, but which we would call pale stone, and a white interior, the light is in very good condition with small signs of age and use, primarily in the form of tiny chips to the paintwork on corners and edges (see photos). It takes an Edison screw bulb max 40w (not supplied) and would work well as a accent light for highlighting a cosy corner of a room or over a coffee table.
