Optima brown double floor lamp by Hans Due for Fog & Mørup, early 70s

Optima brown double floor lamp by Hans Due for Fog & Mørup, early 70sFog & Mørup

Hans Due's ufo-style lamp series Optima was launched by Fog & Mørup in 1972 and consisted of seven models in white – three pendant lamps, two floor lamps with one and two heads respectively, a table lamp and a wall lamp. Yellow and brown editions followed in 1973, and this is the brown 1973 edition of the Optima two-head floor lamp. It has a height of 140 cm, a base diameter of 26 cm and two head diameters of 20 cm. Thanks to a ball-and-socket type joint in the arms attaching them to the stem, the heads can be adjusted to point at any angle. The lamp is in very good condition with a few patches of light wear (see photos). It comes complete with its original double on/off floor switch and European two-pin plug, and takes standard Edison screw bulbs max 60w.
