Optima pendant light designed by Hans Due for Fog & Mørup, 1970s

Hans Due's ufo-like Optima lamp series was launched by Fog & Mørup in October 1972 in white, with yellow and brown editions following a year later. The pendant lights in these early editions had diameters of 20, 50 and 60 cm respectively. This particular Optima pendant is the 20 cm diameter version in brown, which appeared towards the end of the 1970s, and has the rich colour and soft sheen of tempered chocolate. The Optima takes a standard Edison screw bulb max 60w (not included). The lamp is in excellent condition with minimal wear.
