Poker pendant light designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, 1970s
Poker pendant light designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, 1970s
In strong, glossy laquered metal with a diameter of 20cm and a height of 19cm, Jo Hammerborg's Poker is a minimalist classic which looks as modern today as it did when it was produced in the early 1970s. This rich orange Poker is in good condition with small signs of age and previous use (see photos) and comes with its original Fog & Mørup cable grip – a key element of the Poker's design which is often missing due to the fact that it is not permanently fixed to the shade but instead has a narrow cylindrical protuberance at the top which exactly slots into a small hole at the top of the shade to hold the bulb holder securely in position. This element is unique to Fog & Mørup and was designed by Jo Hammerborg to minimise the external profile of the electrical fitting in keeping with the design's pared-down modernism. The Poker takes a standard Edison screw bulb max 60w (not supplied).
