Kegle conical rise-and-fall pendant light produced by Lyfa, 1950s
A rarely seen rise-and-fall lamp (hejselampe in Danish), produced by top Danish lighting company Lyfa in the 1950s and entitled Kegle. The conical metal body has a matte light grey finish and comes complete with its original egg-shaped Lyfa hoist pulley. An integrated handle inside the shade allows for effortless height adjustment: a gentle tug engages the pulley so that the cord can be reeled in or let out. Measuring 30 cm in diameter and 21 cm in height, the Kegle is ideal for use over a desk or dining table or anywhere a localised and adjustable pool of lighting is required. The lamp retains its Lyfa label and is in very good condition with light wear around the rim (see photos). It takes a standard Edison screw bulb max 60w (not supplied).
