Danish 1950s midcentury modern pendant light by Bent Karlby for Lyfa
Designed by Danish architect-designer Bent Karlby and produced by Lyfa in the 1950s, this midcentury Danish modern rise-and-fall pendant with its gunmetal grey shade is a sister lamp to Karlby's Trenta, sharing the same perspex core for glare-free but effective illumination, the same 34.5 cm diameter and the same 18cm height. The egg-shaped rise-and-fall housing is marked "Lyfa Made in Denmark", and a handle in the base of the perspex core allows for easy height adjustment. The lamp is in excellent condition with very little sign of previous use. It takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb max 75 w (not supplied).
