Swedish art textile with vividly colourful semi-abstract floral design

This vintage fabric panel was purchased in Köping in Västmanland, Sweden, and its vividly colourful print of stylised flowers is highly typical of Swedish textile design in the postwar period as exemplified by Josef Frank, Viola Gråsten and Saini Salonen. Measuring 90 cm wide and 257 cm long, the finely woven furnishing-weight cotton panel is printed in cerise, warm red and burgundy and is finished on all sides, with narrow hems at top and bottom ends. The textile is in excellent condition with no fading or other damage, and would make an excellent wall hanging.
