Mushroom lamps designed and made in the 1960s by Holm Sorensen
With their vividly coloured glossy metal stems and caps, these high-quality table lamps stand 20 cm tall with a max diameter of 13 cm and were probably intended for bedside use, their compact dimensions and tiltable caps well suited to creating localised pools of light for reading. Designed and produced by Svend Aage Holm Sørensen at his own lighting production company in the 1960s, these lamps are very rarely seen today. These two examples, one reddish orange and the other yellow, are offered for sale together as a pair, and the price shown is for both. The lamps' heavy opal glass balls are marked Made in Sweden, indicating that Holm Sørensen contracted out the production of this component, most likely to Orrefors. They have European two-pin plugs and take a small Edison screw SES golfball bulb.
