Orient table lamp designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, 1968

Orient table lamp designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, 1968

Designed by Fog & Mørup's head of design Jo Hammerborg circa 1968, this spun aluminium Orient table lamp was created to accompany the popular Orient pendant light and came in two sizes, of which this is the smaller. The shade is a new replacement made from similar fabric to the original and is included with the lamp. The glossy silver-coloured base has a diameter of 15cm and includes its original underside plastic seal which is imprinted with the Fog & Mørup name and logo along with the lamp's product code E7188 and its country of manufacture (Made in Denmark). This seal also acts as a grip to prevent the lamp sliding around on a smooth surface. The overall height of the lamp including the shade is 43.5cm and the shade has a diameter of 23cm, while the height of the base to the bottom of the bulb holder is 22.5cm. The lamp is in very good condition with light wear in the form of small scuffs and a couple of 2mm slight dings, none of which detracts from the overall glossy appearance. The lamp has a European-style two-pin plug and a long lead (approx 3.35m), and takes a standard Edison screw bulb max 60w.
