Hamalux of Denmark space-age magnetic wall/table/desk/spot lamp 60s/70s

These versatile magnetic ball or bubble lamps were extremely popular in Denmark in the late 1960s and early 1970s and were produced by a number of lighting companies, this particular example being by Hamalux of Dannemare on the Danish island of Lolland. The lamp can be used freestanding on a desk or a bedside or coffee table, but can also be wall-mounted for use as a spotlight by being screwed to the wall via the hole in its magnetic base created for that purpose. In very good vintage condition with some small marks to the glossy green paintwork (see photos), the lamp stands approximately 16 cm tall and retains its gold Hamalux A/S label, an attractively chunky inline on/off switch and European two-pin plug. It takes a small Edison screw golfball bulb max 40w (not supplied).
