Roulet copper pendant light by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Morup, late 50s
One of the first lamps created by Jo Hammerborg when he joined Fog & Mørup as head of design in 1957, the Roulet is a typically high-quality F&M production made of solid copper. The middle rings and the bottom edge of the outer section are painted in the classic Hammerborg orange which is reflected by the lustrous copper surfaces when the lamp is lit, enhancing the warmth of the light emitted to create a cosy glow of Danish hygge. With a diameter of 34 cm and a height of 21 cm, the lamp is in very good condition, with generalised patination in line with its age and minor paint loss to the rim edge on the innermost ring (see photos). It takes a standard Edison screw bulb max 100w (not supplied).
