1960s Vitrika Danish art glass wall lamp pair

A pair of vintage Maritimlampet art glass wall lights made in the 1960s/1970s by Vitrika of Denmark. With a body of solid pressed glass in a brass frame, the lamps weigh 2.45kg (5lb 6oz) and 2.35kg (5lb 2oz) respectively – the 100g (4oz) difference reflecting the fact that the glass has been produced by hand and each lamp is unique. Fitted with European two-pin plugs, they take an SES golfball bulb max 40w. Condition is excellent with little sign of age or use beyond a few spots of discoloration to the top edge of the lower brass bracket in one of the lamps (see pictures). Dimensions are 12.5 x 16.5 x 8.5cm (5 x 6.5 x 3.5 inches).
