Rare vintage Louis Poulsen Wessel pendant light

Illustrated in the 1967 Louis Poulsen lighting catalogue, this scarce vintage Danish modern pendant light is rarely seen today – indeed, in ten years of Danish lamp hunting we have never seen another example. Entitled Wesselpendel and measuring 22.5cm (8.75 inches) in diameter and 17cm (6.75 inches) in height, the light is comprised of a central matte black metal band flanked top and bottom by multi-ringed nylon diffusers, the uppermost of which clips onto a tripod of hooks concealed together with the bulbholder below the central black metal cap. The lamp has been rewired with new two-core electric cable and is in excellent condition, with no scratching to the paintwork. There is some heat discolouration to the central ring of the top diffuser due to its proximity to the bulbholder, but this is not visible when the light is in situ.
