Cotton textile with Swedish-style leaf pattern

This fine 1950s cotton textile measures 83 x 164cm (32.5 x 64.5 inches) and has been hemmed at both ends in a way that suggests it was intended for use as a curtain (perhaps to hang in a doorway), but it shows no sign of ever having been put to use. It is in excellent condition and the classic midcentury modern colours are strong with no sign of fading or wear. The textile was purchased in Denmark, but its distinctive leaf pattern has much in common with Swedish textile designs of the 1950s and it is believed to be Swedish in origin.
