Pair of vintage round mandala table mats

Suitable for use as rather large dining placemats or as decorative centrepieces for a dining table, sideboard or coffee table, these circular tablemats were made in Denmark in the late 1960s or early 1970s. Measuring 38 cm each in diameter, the vivid mandala design in vibrant oranges and reds is printed on a classic Danish hessian/jute mix textile and are in mint unused condition. One of the mats has a small production flaw of the kind not uncommon in these studio-produced silk-screen print textiles, where one of the outer ‘petals’ has incomplete orange colour coverage and a darker thread incorporated into the fabric.
