Black Mag ball light pair by Abo Randers/Lyfa of Denmark, 1970s

Offered as a pair (the price listed is for both lamps together), these original vintage Mag pop art ball lamps were designed by P Bosque and were made in the 1970s by the Abo Randers lighting company of Denmark, one of the pair while Abo Randers was still an independent producer, and the other after the company had merged with Lyfa, as evidenced by the Abo Randers and Lyfa labels inside them respectively. The lamps' black ball-shaped heads are held in place by a magnet inside the black plastic base, and can be swivelled around to point in any direction. They can be used either as table lamps or as spotlights, and the bases can be screwed to a wall or shelf – the magnet is strong enough to hold the lamp head in place, even upside down. The lamps stand approximately 14cm tall and have European-style two-pin plugs. They take a small Edison screw golfball bulb max 40w (not supplied) and are in very good condition with minor signs of previous use in the form of a few paint chips to the rims (see photos).
