One of several themes that ran through Jo Hammerborg’s work at Fog & Mørup during the 1960s was that lights were often produced in three different metals – copper, brass and aluminium. Hammerborg's classic early 1960s Nova pendant light is among these triads, this example in solid brass. The light is in very good condition with three small areas of paint loss to the yellow ochre interior (see photos). It does, however, have extensive mottling patination, which some consider part of the appeal of vintage brass while others prefer an unpatinated look – those in the latter group won't appreciate this particular example. The Nova has a diameter of 40cm and a height of 18cm, and takes a standard Edison screw bulb max 100w (not supplied).
