Danish midcentury modern design layered pendant light by Lyfa, 1950s

This high-quality 1950s pendant lighting fixture was produced by Danish lighting company Lyfa and is attributed to Bent Karlby, who created other similar designs for the company at the time. The multi-layered matte-lacquered steel shade in a classic midcentury muted avocado-olive green and soft black concentrates the light from the white opal glass body in a downward direction while also providing ambient upward light and avoiding glare, making it ideal for use over a dining table or in other situations where a bright but gentle illumination is required. The lamp has a diameter of 30 cm and a height of 21 cm and is in excellent condition with minimal wear. It retains its original bakelite collar ring that connects the glass body to the cap and bulbholder and is embossed with the Lyfa logo.
