Vintage Danish modern art lamp with psychedelic aurora effect, 1980s

This spectacular and ultra-rare Danish modern wall lamp is an artwork as much as a lighting fixture – though it does also provide effective and 100% glare-free illumination. Measuring 27 cm in diameter and with a projection from the wall of 13 cm (16 cm including the bulb), the lamp has a compelling sculptural quality when unlit, the strong metal layers offering an interesting combination of structure, texture and colour. Then when the bulb is lit, the lamp throws an extraordinary psychedelic aurora of patterning in light and shade some considerable distance across the wall and onto any adjacent objects. We have two of these lamps available (the price listed is for one lamp) which we purchased in Denmark some 15 years ago and believe to be a 1980s production by Design Light A/S of Denmark. Both lamps are in excellent condition with no damage. They come with their original inline on/off switch and European two-pin plug and take a standard E27 Edison screw crown mirror bulb max 60w.
