Cocktail pendant lights designed by Henning Rehhof for Fog & Mørup

Designed by Henning Rehhof in 1970 and made by luxury lighting producer Fog & Mørup, the Cocktail is a Danish art light with multiple identities and is rarely seen today. Twelve strong and high-quality metal strips, six longer ones and six shorter, all with glossy lipstick-red lacquer on one face and white on the reverse, can be hung in many different combinations on the arms that protrude alternately at two distances from the light's central circular disc plate. Long on the inside or the outside, long showing white or red, short the same colour as the long ones or not, all of one length showing the same colour or alternating... Stick with the combination you like best, or change it whenever the mood takes you – it only takes a couple of minutes.

We have two Cocktails available, which are offered for sale together as a pair (the price listed is for both). They each have a diameter of 19 cm and a height of 37.5 cm and are in very good vintage condition with only minor signs of previous use. They have been rewired to meet or exceed current UK and international regulations

A May 1971 advertisement for the lamp ran as follows: “Create your own Cocktail. Cocktail is the name of a new type of lamp with a wide variety of combinations. Just rearrange the 12 loose red/white metal strips to create new, exciting colour effects and bring a different mood into the living room. Will you choose a classic white lamp or a cosy lamp with a warm red glow?”
