Description

Standing 24cm tall with a base diameter of 12cm, this unusual vintage table lamp is entitled Goldstar-126 and was made in the 1970s by Frimann. The weighted base and stem of the lamp are made of brass, while the top section – the golden orb – is an extraordinary lightbulb with a filament structure far larger and more robust than those found in normal bulbs. The Frimann label on the base of the lamp tells us that the bulb is a Philips G 126 de luxe. Possibly this is an example of the fabled everlasting lightbulb that was rumoured to exist at the time – certainly it has lasted more than four decades to date! The lamp has an inline on/off switch and is fitted with its original European two-pin plug. Condition is very good with small signs of age and use.
